While weighing the pros and cons of JS-Kit "Echo" and Disqus (v.3), as a temporary experiment I have added two external services (SaaS) to increase the interaction with our customers and site visitors.
Uservoice is already an established player in the field of "turning customer feedback into action". The Feedback button is placed to the left of the website body.
The second service is Olark. Although still in Beta, Olark is very promising. Plenty of good features to enable "the easiest live help solution", including mobile solutions and engaging confused visitors. Our Olark chat window is placed at the top right corner of our website.
In addition I am considering other solutions from established players like Userplane.
